Mr. Alan "Woody" Morawiec's Page

Mr. WoodyMy name is Alan “Woody” Morawiec and I have been teaching since 1984. I graduated from high school in June of 1984 and in September of that same year, I was teaching in the same high school that I had just graduated from. You see, I was the first group to be recruited into a brand new teaching program in New York City.

My teaching field started out as Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) , which later evolved into science and then into technology education. I’ve taught in a variety of inner city schools in Brooklyn and Queens, New York. I have taught in a juvenile shelter, alternative high school and suburban middle school's in Colorado.

In my years of teaching, I've been recognized in a number of different ways. I was a Wal-Mart teacher of the year and Channel 7 Everyday Hero in 2004, recognized by the Colorado House of Representatives for my “Holocaust Shoe Project” in 2007 and The Daughters of the Revolutionary War Colorado Community Service Award recipient in 2010. My innovations in technology education were recognized as well in a number of newspapers and news programs in Colorado.

I eagerly wait to meet my new students, your children at Connections Learning Center. I promise you this; I will teach and treat your children like they were my very own. I establish meaningful relationships with my students, which is an asset to have in any classroom or school setting.

Please visit The Holocaust Shoe Project website to read about the organization I started in honor of my father and the other people that lost their lives during the Holocaust.
