Our Philosophy....

Welcome to Connections Learning Center's Service Learning Program where our students strive to engage their communities in meaningful service and volunteer efforts. For over the past decade, we have partnered with community organizations in meeting real needs in the Denver Metro area. Through our efforts, students find belonging and significance through helping others:

  • Students see their learning applied in the 'real world' as they practice skills and discover talents and interests
  • Teachers may choose to link their curriculum to community service and/or future careers, giving lessons relevant focus
  • Local non-profits find eager student & faculty volunteers
  • Meaningful service helps fulfill community needs and builds inter-generational bridges

Service Spotlight...

Golden Optimists

The Golden Optimists are a non profit that takes used bicycles and recycle them for those in need of transportation, exercise and fun. https://goldenoptimist.org/

The Golden Optimists have partnered with us on Fridays, our middle school students head over and work with Volunteers to learn how to fix and repair bikes that are then given to those in need. One project they completed last spring was to create strider bikes for an adapted PE class.
