Mrs. Morgan's Page

Hello. My name is Lise Morgan. I have worked with Jefferson County Public Schools for over 22 years. My teaching background includes health, special education and family & consumer studies. My previous careers included serving as an environmental health officer for Pueblo County and as a health educator for the U.S. Peace Corps in Papua New Guinea.

I especially enjoy teaching adolescents as their world views begin to expand and they begin discovering their place of belonging and significance within our community. I love nurturing the ‘teachable & curious moments’ that emerge as they mature into engaged citizens of the world. My responsibilities & opportunities at CLC include:

  • Facilitating and coordinating our service learning program, Serve and Learn Fridays. We seek to build empathy and social-emotional skills necessary for our students to engage our community through authentic and meaningful service. (You can find more about it on the link on our school’s homepage).
  • Teaching Culinary Arts within our Career Technical Education (CTE) Exploratory Program allows our students to explore and try on several vocational ‘hats’. In Culinary Arts, the students get to wear a toque, or chef hat, and experience the art and science of cooking. We run our classroom as a working kitchen, the Connect Cafe. Our curriculum and cuisine center around “Farm to Table” during fall semester and “Food as Common Ground” for an international slant in the spring.

My life away from school orbits around my animal companions of 4 horses, a donkey, three ducks and six dogs. All reside on my hobby farm, Foxhaven.
